I need to know is apical HOCM a hopeless case ?? Its 10 years now with medication from indiral and isoptin and Lopresore and finally with Concore with no result it becomes worse. All doctors just try different types of medication. .some of them told me this is the first step then we may move to implant pacemaker or septalactomy .. im so confused .. yes Im suffering from all the mentioned symptoms. . Im 10 years now a cardiac patient .. I make ECHO. ECGS. HOLTER..angiography. .my hypertension somtimes up sometime down ..just tell me the right track for my case
we have to explain to you that HOCM is not curable, but most symptoms caused
by the condition can be controlled by using medicines.
A small number of people who have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with
obstruction will still have symptoms even though they are taking the
maximum amount of medicines.
they may need further treatment to
help reduce their symptoms and improve their heart muscle function.
There are two main types of treatment:
• surgical myectomy
• septal ablation.
so we advice you to consult cardiologist for complete examination , you should inform your doctor that you want to proceed to the next step and try another option as you are not controlled with your drugs ,,,,
