Adrenal Insufficiency

hallo.
I am from tunisia. I am writing about my mother disease.
My mother is 51 years old, she’s been sick for one year and two months now with Adrenal Insufficiency.She is taken Hydrocortisone 3 pills per day for the rest of her life,but her condition did not improve and became worse.
I know that hydrocortisone usually will produce predictable and potentially serious side effects but, I couldn’t bear to see how my mother,this beautiful lady, transforming to someone I can’t recognize anymore.
This medication has distorted her and make her live with a constant pain.
For example she is now suffering from :
fluid retention,
weight gain,
headache,
muscle weakness,
puffiness of the face (swelling),
bruising of the skin,
convulsions and psychic disturbances( mood swings,insomnia),
osteoporosis,
increased sweating,
bloating,
dizziness, spinning sensation,
nausea, stomach pain,
pain in her upper stomach spreading to her back,vomiting, fast heart rate,
buzzing in her ears, anxiety, chest pain,shortness of breath,
confusion, extreme thirst,leg discomfort, muscle weakness
acne (at the beginning of the treatment),
numbness and swelling arms and legs( and it feels like they are burning),
and constant fatigue.
So,all what I hoppe for now is,if you know any other medicine that can replace the hydrocortisone or if you have
a Natural Herbs recipe for Adrenal Insufficiency ( let’s do not say that it can cure her but at least make these side effects disappear or less damage ),please inform me to prepare it for her,because she is a very weak woman she can’t handle all this pain,especially that she was sick with pericarditis for 4 months right before the Adrenal Insufficiency.
And when I heard that,Steroid medication can weaken your immune system, making it easier for you to get an
infection. Steroids can also worsen an infection you already have, or reactivate an infection you recently had.It Worries me so much that she might get sick with the pericarditis again.So is that possible? or are those two diseases somehow related to each other?
There is one more thing that it worries me,we all know that if the pituitary,pineal gland doesn’t work then automatically both thyroid gland and adrenal glands won’t work,and with my mother she has a insufficient in her pituitary,pineal gland but it didn’t effect her thyroid glands it directly effect her adrenal glands.so could this be a sign of anything?
I feel so powerless.doctors, you are my only and last hope,please help her with one of your recipes if you have one for this disease,because her doctor said she can’t do anything about this, and I can’t take watching her hurting everyday like this,spending her days and nights in pain.

Dear sister ,
first of all , i would like to thank you for your trust and pray for Allah to cure your mother .
then i would like to correct a misconception , the side effects of corticosteroids are not supposed to be such massive as you describe , specially that your mother take it as “replacement” for deficient natural hormone .
by the first look to the problem , i get an impression that THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE DRUG DOSE , and this was supported by many symptoms related to an overdose of corticosteroids .
1 – normally adrenal insufficiency is related to weight loss , BUT weight gain is related to excess corticosteroid -as present in the case- .
2 – normally adrenal insufficiency are not related to fluid retention as there’s supposed to be shortage in the production of hormones that make fluid retention , BUT the present fluid retention denote excess in the hormones taken by medications .
SO , we strongly recommend re-assessment of the drug dose by the doctor and you may want to counsel another doctor too about the correct dose to make sure you get the best effect .
Another thing that Adrenal Insufficiency is a result of an underlying cause ( disease ) and adrenal insufficiency per se isn’t the disease in its complete picture , So your question about relation between thyroid and adrenal gland is answered by the fact that some cases of Adrenal in sufficiency is caused by autoimmune destruction of the cells of adrenal gland and not exclusively a matter of dysfunction in the hypothalamic pituitary axis of regulation for the other endocrine glands of the body .
the last thing i would like to talk about is the importance of mood and psychological state of the patient , you must try to make her happy and less anxious as much as you can , and this can’t occur if you wasn’t happy and optimistic yourself .
